International eInvoicing: signatures remain the only possibility for fulfilling legal requirements in Switzerland

Cloudservice SIGNAMUS fulfills the special requirements of the Swiss finance authorities
Düsseldorf (Deutschland), July 6, 2011 - With the Cloudservice SIGNAMUS, signature and security specialist AuthentiDate makes it possible to even fulfill the special requirements of Swiss Law.
With SIGNAMUS, companies can send and receive electronic invoices with a signature in accordance with the Swiss provisions. The companies do not need the necessary, special Swiss signature cards for this.
Notwithstanding the current EU Council Directive (2010/45/EU), which also provides for so-called “Business Controls” to ensure the authenticity and integrity of electronic invoices in addition to the use of qualified signatures and EDI procedures, only electronic signatures and EDI procedures are permitted in Switzerland, as in many other countries. International companies, which also process electronic invoices in accordance with the Swiss provisions, must therefore use electronic signatures (if no EDI-procedure is used).
The AuthentiDate Service SIGNAMUS completely fulfills the technical and organizational requirements of the Swiss authorities. For this, the SIGNAMUS computer center works with processes and systems, which are authorized by the Federal Finance Administration for the electronic exchange of invoices.
Swiss subsidiary is obligatory for eInvoicing providers
In addition, the SIGNAMUS service also fulfills the latest requirements of the Federal Finance Department (in accordance with Art. 9 EIDI-V). This requires all providers, which sign invoices on behalf of their customers, to have a subsidiary with the appropriate entry in the commercial register in Switzerland. As Switzerland is not a member state of the European Union, this is the only way that a control function can be exercised by the Federal Finance Department.
Companies, which have their electronic invoices signed by a provider and sent to Switzerland, should ensure that this requirement has been fulfilled and obtain a current commercial register excerpt of the provider if in doubt.
All signatures generated through the Cloudservice SIGNAMUS can be checked means of the signature checking service www.signature-check.com free of charge for the user. Naturally, this also applies to Swiss signatures.
SIGNAMUS thus offers a comprehensive and internationally valid service for the electronic exchange of invoices. Companies of any size and from any industry can quickly convert to eInvoicing with SIGNAMUS. Simple, fast, legally compliant, without any investment and with clearly calculable costs.
